Clarity and now Pinkerton, it's emo week on BEA! It's a very good album, I probably like The Green Album more though, Blue one goes without saying.

I never get tired of this one. It's one of those albums that speaks to your heart, even if the lyrics don't remotely relate to your life. I feel so much sadness when listening to a narrative I can't even pretend applies to me.The lyrics replace themselves with personal stories applied to the listener's own life. It's like the instrumentation and vocals tell the listener that their *insert mourning over sad event* is valid and its okay to be upset over that. (Hope I explained that well.. I'm trying to figure out how else it would make me so sad) If Rivers were singing of sweaters and surfing, could he provoke just as much emotion here?

I also prefer Blue to this but both are spectacular. Not a bad song in sight

Some of you guys may remember that this used to be my favorite album ever. I still love it to pieces, but the misogyny makes it really hard for me to listen to it today, for how far is the gap between Rivers being mad at women rejecting him and Eliot Rodger?

What do you guys think of that angle? Was Rivers making fun of his melodramatic attitude, or does it really endorse this "nice guy" ideology?
