Im doing a powerpoint presentation about jazz during the 1920s and I don't really know any music from that time except Louis Armstrong. If anyone knows any notable musicians or anything about the era it would be very helpful.
Thanks

Well you can start with Jelly Roll Morton who is considered the first important leader and composer of jazz history and his most important work would be the compilation of his Complete Victor Recordings most were recorded between 1926 and 1928.

Another really important figure of that era would be Joe King Oliver, in fact Louis Arsmtrong started as a second cornetist in his band, in which Armstrong always showed his admiration for King Oliver. Oliver's band is also considered to be the last band that played with collective improvisations. One of the most important works would be his King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band: The Complete Set mainly recorded on 1923.

By the late 20's, Duke Ellington was already very popular in the country, and "The Mooche" , maybe his most popular song was recorded in 1929.

Another important figures from that era:

Fat Waller - Piano Masterworks Vol. 1
Coleman Hawkings (the first important tenor saxophonist) he made his most popular ballad in 1929 called "One Hour".
