I love this album because it's so British. I haven't listened to it in a while though, songs do still hold up but I'm still wondering about the other ones. I must re-listen to it soon as I'm seeing Blur in August and that should be fun. Very Happy

Fantastic pop record. I think it never left my chart... That said, it will probably do in the future, considering its actual position. This changes nothing to the fact that the songwriting here is some of the best ever.

Not a fan. The tunes may be alright, but the production makes me want to grind my teeth and the whole "caw guvnah ent we so bretesh" facade is a turn off.

This sentence from Wikipedia says a lot.

Wikipedia wrote:
The album was originally going to be entitled London, and the album-cover shot was going to be of a fruit-and-vegetable cart.

I've only heard it once, and from what I remember it's very hit or miss. The highlights are extraordinary, though. I'll give it a listen tonight if I have time.

Great album, wouldn't call it a favourite. Too many throw-away tracks (could do without everything between "London Loves" and "This Is a Low," honestly). Would probably consider it 5th among Blur albums after 13, The Great Escape, Think Tank, and Blur, but then again I have an obvious preference toward their post-Britpop sound.

Track picks: "Badhead," "End of a Century," "Parklife"

About as British as Britpop could get, I believe.
