The last time I had a surprise support, it was Pitbull.

So you know, enjoy that.

The entirety of Illinois as a full stage production. Sufjan will sing from the pit with an orchestra and onstage there will be dancers and really spectacular props and backdrops. The whole theatre will be decorated with some sort of gypsy caravan look and the audience will be in full costume. Afterward there will be a party in a big fancy ballroom with food and a bar and music from a reunited LCD Soundsystem. Or you could go out to the terrace where Sigur Rós would serenade you peacefully with softer arrangements of their songs.

My imagination is pretty detailed.

A really interactive concert like that would be fucking fantastic.

This is impossible for me to say with any concrete certainty that I won't change my mind about all three acts five minutes from now, but in this moment, I'd want to go with the following:

I'd open with a performance from Jeff Buckley. He can play anything he wants, really. I just miss him.
I'd follow him with Guillemots performing Through the Windowpane with full orchestra accompaniment.
Finally, I would have Genesis play through The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway with all of its original theatrics.

It would be really awesome to do this somewhere relatively intimate like the Hollywood Theater. There's enough room to bring a decent crowd, but the sound wouldn't have to suffer for the sake of space.

Of course, I'd rather assemble my own dream festival with thirty acts or so. That way, I could get The Beatles, Janelle Monae, The Smiths, Yes, St. Vincent, John Coltrane, Cocteau Twins, The Church, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Bjork, Miles Davis, Stina Nordenstam, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Moondog, Air, Gorillaz, Amon Tobin, Talk Talk, Charles Mingus, Boards of Canada, Marvin Gaye, Weather Report, Cloud Cult, Brand New, The Flaming Lips, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix & Modest Mouse to join the weekend extravaganza.

EDIT: WEIRD. I WAS ON A TOTAL PROGGY ROCK TRIP AND OLD CLASSICS. I STRIKETHROUGHED THE ACTS I'D NO LONGER GO OUT OF MY WAY TO HEAR.

At first glance, I was going to say this is not a dream concert but Live Aid. As I got further along I realized it is Live Aid. I was there, at the Philly show. I also used to have the entire show recorded on VCR, not the edited crap they sold a few years ago. I would've loved to been in London for that show with Queen, U2 and The Who. Still the greatest single day of rock.

For rap, literally Kanye's Yeezus tour that featured Kendrick Lamar, but an addition of Drake would be perfection.
This could only go well in a big stadium with a beautiful set up.

Indie Rock: My Bloody Valentine opens Radiohead.
Something smaller would suffice.

This would be perfect if Sufjan did The Age Of Adz as well.

I went to my dream concert (almost dream concert but close as i could get) this year.
I saw Alice in Chains with Monster Truck. in Hunington,WV

the only thing that could have made it better would to have Layne be alive.
