Stevie Wonder is the only man on earth to have created a perfect pop song, and that song is of course 'Superstition'. I refuse to believe there is any other answer.

Does MBV count as noise pop?

Thriller - Michael Jackson
Only Shallow - MBV
Close Another Door - Bee Gees
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - The Beatles
Wouldn't It Be Nice - The Beach Boys
The Queen Is Dead / Take Me Back to Dear Old Blighty (Medley) - The Smiths
A Little Help from My Friends - The Beatles
Ivo - Cocteau Twins
You Still Believe in Me - The Beach Boys
Do It Every Time - Ringo Deathstarr
I Can't See Nobody - Bee Gees
Disney Girls - The Beach Boys
Kids with Guns - Gorillaz (electropop)
Persophone - Cocteau Twins
So High - Ringo Deathstarr
Add Some Music to Your Day - Beach Boys
The Way You Make Me Feel - Michael Jackson
World in My Eyes - Depeche Mode
Clean - Depeche Mode
Machine Gun - Souvlaki
It's Not Unusual - Tom Jones
Rolling in the Deep[ - Adele
Royals - Lorde
Care of Cell 44 - The Zombies

This is what I can think of. If I'm missing anything, whatevs.

250?! Shocked Is it okay if I just choose just ten? These songs are ones that, while not necessarily pop music, but they have that pop appeal, and they are really special to me. From when I first heard them, I felt a connection so strong that I feel incredibly sentimental. So, here we go:

1. Galaxie 500 - Tugboat

2. Cocteau Twins - Carolyn's Fingers

3. New Order - Temptation

4. Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

5. The Cure - Just Like Heaven

6. David Bowie - Heroes

7. The Jesus And Mary Chain - Happy When It Rains

8. LCD Soundsystem - Home

9. Elbow - One Day Like This

10. Daft Punk - Digital Love

EDIT: I know it's really 80s heavy, but the 80s is where some of the most memorable singles of all time are placed.

EDIT 2: I've ranked them to save SuedeSwede the trouble. But, they're all pretty much perfect in my eyes.

No order (The numbers were for me to keep track), will add more to this later, should easily make 250.

I'd also appreciate it if you guys could rank it in order from favourite to least favourite since I will take the lists and assign points based upon where it is in the list, so alphabetical order will just make the list null.

What, so like ten points for everything in the top 25, nine for everything in the next 25, etc.? Because I don't regard my #1 to be 249 points better than my #250.

EDIT: Also, that way you can sort it out exactly the same across all lists, i.e. if someone offers 30 songs, the top 3 can get ten points, the next 3 can get nine, etc.

Exactly why I'm not doing 250 points, it'll probably be 100 points for the #1, and so on. And it won't go in sectors, in a top 100 list, #2 will get 99, #3 will get 98, etc. In a top 250, #2 would get 9.6-ish I believe.

EDIT: Although, sectors of ten does sound a lot more organised since my top 10 pop songs are probably near enough equal, and so on.

Yeah, but I still don't regard my #1 to be 99 points better than my #250. Is there any way you can just average all mine out and give them the same score if that's the way you're doing it?

Yeah, basically I'd advocate this sort of ranking. I mean, I'm talking about a list of 250 songs I consider perfect. If you're going to rank with points, surely it would make more sense to have less of a chasm between the top and the bottom?

So does sectors of 10 sound good? That way, #1-#10 would get 25, #11-20 would get 24, and so on. So there's not a substantial gap that way. Still, if you'd like I could just give all your albums a 12.5
