I think we need a public apology for this

Spells is the coolest, Tubman the most original and Words the most beautiful. I voted Words, but then again I'm obviously biased
Can't complain about the final-all these tracks are amongst 2018s best songs for me. I'd never heard Spells before this contest and never realised how much I like the Sons track before so they've been good finds. To give Julia a bit of support here (though she hardly needed it in this tournament) I feel like she is the artist we are most likely to look back on in 10 years time as having created something really striking and significant in 2018.
That said, any of these tracks would be worthy winners.

All three have gradually grown on me and now I like them all very much so it's very difficult to make a choice.
But I think I'm gonna choose for the least likely when I started this: Jenny Hval.

I must be still using Facebook... haha (nope)... but that JENNY HVAL track just doesn't jive with me... at all. I feel like I'm lost when I listen to it, as unique as it is (I guess... idk, I just feel like some random Ableton beep bops were used over a bland chord structure and the rhythm was dreadful)... I guess I suck at life.
I went with Words to give a chance to snub out Spells, but could've gone to either of the two first tracks - solid for sure.

For me, this is an excruciating choice between two stellar tracks (though SoK is far from shabby). |
When two songs under consideration are this excellent, it becomes about nitpicking, and the ever-so-slight cheesiness of the saxophone part in Spells has finally tipped my vote to Words I Heard. _________________ Add me on RYM

Unless Spells picks up 3+ unanswered votes or Words I Heard picks up 4+, we're headed to a runoff. _________________ Add me on RYM
