Actually, you are being a snog, but no hard feelings. Its pretty obvious i meant "The Ascension" and I was specifically referring to the song "nicodemus" on the CD not "solid foundation" which is the last on the original vinyl.

Great songs and the end of an album I think are:
Bike - Pink Floyd (Piper at the Gates of Dawn)
Her Majesty - The Beatles (Abbey Road)
Saturday Sun - Nick Drake (Five Leaves Left)
The Kick Inside - Kate Bush (The Kick Inside)
Take it or leave it - The Strokes (Is This It)
Married With Children - Oasis (Definitely Maybe)
Don't Ya Rile 'Em - Frank Black (Frank Black)
Effervescing Elephant - Syd Barrett (Barrett)
Consequence - The Notwist (Neon Golden)
Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles (Revolver)
Dream Sequence #1 - dEUS (The Ideal Crash)
The Past and Pending - The Shins (Oh, Inverted World)
Luna - The Smashing Pumpkins (Siamese Dream)
Oh! Sweet Nuthin' - The Velvet Underground (Loaded)
Your Saving Grace - The Steve Millder Band (Your Saving Grace)

How am i being anymore of a snog than you were when you said the album is actually Doolittle not debaser? i obviously meant Doolittle, debaser is just the first song on the album. And solid foundation is the closing song for both the CD and the vinyl. "Nicodemus" is the last song on the first disc of the CD which is a double disc album. Here is the track listing:
LP:
Side one
1."Fisherman"
2."Congoman"
3."Open Up the Gate"
4."Children Crying"
5."La La Bam-Bam"
Side two
1."Can't Come In"
2."Sodom and Gomorrow"
3."Ark of the Covenant"
4."The Wrong Thing"
5."Solid Foundation"
CD:
CD one
1."Fisherman"
2."Congoman"
3."Open up the Gate"
4."Children Crying"
5."La La Bam-Bam"
6."Can't Come In"
7."Sodom and Gomorrow"
8."The Wrong Thing"
9."Ark of the Covenant"
10."Solid Foundation"
11."At the Feast"
12."Nicodemus"
CD two
1."Congoman" (12" mix)
2."Congoman Chant"
3."Bring the Mackaback"
4."Noah Sugar Pan"
5."Solid Foundation" (Disco Cork Mix)
before correcting someone you should make sure you are totally right... ![Laughing](images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) _________________ "The future is unwritten."

Chill, Chill i listed "Nicodemus" as the closing track because i was under the impression that disk 2 was just different mixes. Maybe i was wrong but does it really matter?

A great closer should be the icing on the cake of any great album. It is the mouth-watering dessert after a great meal. When considering a great album, the closer is as important as the opener. With that in mind, these song are the truly satisfying ends to great albums:
Find the River (Automatic for the People)-R.E.M.
Sweet Nothin' Loaded- The Velvet Underground
Desolation Row- (Highway 61 Revisited) Bob Dylan
It's All Over Now Baby Blue-Bringing it All Back Home-Bob Dylan
The End- The Doors
You Can't Always Get What You Want- ]Let it Bleed-The Rolling Stones
Judy and the Dream of Horses-If You're Feeling Sinister-Belle and Sebastian
Reservations- Yankee Hotel Foxtro Wilco
And the still the greatest closer ever:
A Day in the Life- The Beatles (Tomorrow Never Knows is a close second)
