So, what you are saying is:
-If a white man says "Black people are animals, they should all be shot", he is racist.
-If a black man says "White people are animals, they should all be shot", he is not racist.
That makes little sense to me. |
Ok, I won't be drawn in by him no more. I felt as though he was literally saying racism was ok and it would be desireably if we all went around flaunting it. I'll apologize to him if that wasn't what he meant.
Racism is essentially part of the establishment. This establishment basically caters for the straight white non-trans males and puts them as the norm. People that don't (can't) conform to these norms are the oppressed. This results in racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia etc. The establishment controls all of these. They are the oppressors and the people on receiving end are the oppressed.
As racism is controlled by the oppressors, both examples you gave would be correct. The black man would be cruel and hateful for saying that but can not be called a "racist" as he is part of the oppressed. As the white male has the white privilege for being how the system desired (and consequently like the oppressors), he would be cruel, hateful and racist for making that statement.

No, I deleted it. Level of abuse was completely uncalled for and had nothing to do with reality. Jackwc was downright sickening and I really regret even checking what he wrote the first time. I had him blocked and I clicked to see what he read not once but twice, reminding me why he was blocked in the first place.
Edit: abuse of power? I thought he was being racist the first time. I'm not sitting by and let him do that.

@19loveless91: Threads gone downhill fast. Plus I am not one to be able to express myself clearly which has quite clearly had an effect on how the topic has gone. I have read quite a lot but can't put everything to words as well as more wordy and inclined person.
If there is any questions you wanted to ask, send them in private message. Although I'm not sure if I am any match for the material that you have been learning and you may know a lot more about these things than me.

It's not going downhill as much I just don't think you're getting exactly what people (esp Jack) are trying to write to you. Right now I'm writing a long ass post so please don't lock the thread or anything. I'll post my opinion here cause I'm replying to others too

I've sent a complaint, this is a rather blatant abuse of power.
And how exactly was I racist? I'm entirely serious, I didn't mean to come off as racist at all. Perhaps you should read my original comment again, if you don't understand what I'm trying to say. I'm not condoning racism in any way.
...Although, wasn't it you who claimed that oppressed minorities COULDN'T be racist? Well, I'm a member of an oppressed racial minority, I'm a "half-breed". By your logic, I can't possibly be racist, so why exactly did you delete my comment?
