Dookie by Green Day is basically an entire album about the trials and tribulations of a small town teen. Impossible to do it any better in my opinion.

Simply, anything by Green Day, or perhaps Arctic Monkeys or The Flaming Lips!

I feel like a lot of 13-year-olds would listen to The Flaming Lips and just think wtf. Green Day and Arctic Monkeys would work great, though.

I think the two for me when I was 13 was WPSIATWIN by The Arctic Monkeys(they were huge in Ireland and the UK when I was 13,hard to avoid) and Dookie, although the former is one I'd give to someone in their mid teens 15-16 as alot of the songs would be more age appropriate and it's when I first began to truly appreciate it.Dookie however,Dookie is the perfect album for a 13 year old male, that or XXX by Danny Brown.

I think a 13 year old wouldn't be able to get into The Flaming Lips at all, let alone anything like Kid A.

Would have to be Nevermind, that's the first album I properly loved.

I'm 12, and I think that despite being slow-paced, Arcade Fire's music is pretty exciting. And literally the definition of awesome.

Funeral was one of my favourite albums when it came out. I was at least 12. Hayden dug it when he was 9.

My brother digs it, he's 6.

I think you need to give kids a little more credit.

Of course there are exceptions. But can you honestly tell me that, of all the 13-year-olds you've known in your life, most or even very many of them would like Arcade Fire?

That's because you arent living your childhood.

Seriously I would say Linkin Park, Blink 182, Billy Talent.
