I knew Thriller was number one but I never knew Dark Side of the Moon is at number two. Always good to see truly great music gets the attention it deserves, which isn't the case all too often.

What, people don't like The Bodyguard soundtrack or Hootie and the Blowfish anymore?

That doesn't surprise me at all. Even my mom owned Rumours as a teenager, and she can't even recognize Led Zeppelin on the radio.

I think it's safe to say that the equilibrium of this matter would have to be Spice Girls' Spice. _________________ tim

#25 surprises me a lot.
I didn't even know In-a-gadda-da-vida was one of the best-selling psychedelic rock albums.
30 million sales - incredible!

Bodyguard and Dirty Dancing soundtracks at 18,646 and 14,626 respectively....LOL. I think what this analysis shows us is that, yes, most BEA members have questionable tastes, but at least they're not quite as bad as the general public as a whole.
I was surprised to see 'Jagged Little Pill' and particularly In A Gadda Da Vida there. Also I thought The Eagles Greatest Hits was the biggest seller of all-time. Obviously not.
Also, for all the talk about the Beatles being one of the top sellers, it comes as a surprise to learn that they have only one album in the top 25.

Jagged Little Pill is not really a surprise, but In A Gadda Da Vida sure is. I've only recently learned of that album, and here it turns out to be a best-seller. It doesn't seem to be mentioned much by people.
They have two albums, actually. Besides Sgt. Pepper, that album that is just called "1" is a greatest hits compilation by The Beatles. I was expecting that Abbey Road would be there too, but oh well, I guess some people do have good taste.
By the way, I don't think this is a definitive list, or meant to be. I should think it's one of the lists nearest to accurate, though.
