Keep It Hid, Dan Auerbach. With this gem Auerbach achieves something as yet unseen on the Black Keys' albums: variety. This variety pays huge dividends if you like a little folk with your blues.
Mountain, Heartless Bastards. The only female bluesrock singer I've heard who isn't corny. Their sound is influenced by The Kinks and Zeppelin. _________________ http://somethingobscure.com

Well, giving a quick glance through my collection, here are the albums that are rocking my year thus far.
Akron/Family - Set 'Em Wild, Set 'Em Free
Antony and the Johnsons - The Crying Light
Balmorhea - All Is Wild, All Is Silent
Bon Iver - Blood Bank (Yeah, I know it's an ep)
Bruce Springsteen - Working on a Dream
Heartless Bastards - The Mountain
Husband & Wife - Dark Dark Woods
John Frusciante - The Empyrean
Madina Lake - Attics to Eden
Mastodon - Crack the Skye
Melinda Doolittle - Coming Back to You
Patrick Wolf - The Bachelor (don't tell anyone )
Pet Shop Boys - Yes
Tiny Masters of today - Skeletons
Various Artists - Dante's Inferno (The Divine Comedy – Part I)
I'm always on the lookout for new stuff, so I'd say this list will probably grow by leaps and bounds between now and the end of the year.

I just picked up that Animal Collective album that's all the rage with the local youth. I enjoyed Person Pitch by that Noah Lennox guy, so I'm looking forward to it. I don't know why I'm talking like this.

Depeche Mode's Sounds Of The Universe starts out kind of weak with the first two tracks, but the rest of the album has grown on me. I'd call it a solid B+.
The jury's still out on Placebo's Battle For the Sun. There's some good tracks, but I'm still not sure what I think of the work as a whole. _________________ <(: @ >
