Thanks for your post, because my post got slammed and what you said basically backs up what I am trying to say. All of your albums are from the UK- only Hot Fuss is American and is the least best on the list. America has lost its love for Rock/Alternative/Punk and favors electronic/hip-hop/dance music.

LCD Sound System's Sounds of Silver might be in the top ten as well. Especially from bands that are mostly from the 2000s. I think the Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers did some great work in the 2000s, but are not bands from the 2000s.

Heh heh. Slammed.

But, my immaturaties aside, what's so bad about America favouring electronic/hip-hop/dance or indie?

Well I think the following might become classics:
Elephant - The White Stripes
Is This It- The Strokes
I don't know which one - Tv on the Radio

Those three are more alike to become classics than Hot Fuss i think, all of them american.

I liked Dear Science more than Cookie Mountain - but alas, haven't listened to Young Liars or Desperate Youth yet. Both are on my to-listen list, though...

I'm a fan, so I can't help but love everything they do, but on albums the after cookie mountain they got rid of most of their noise guitars, further toned down the doo-wop and barbershop influences, its less exciting and reveals that under the cool arrangements they are writing very simple songs, the early stuff on the other hand is so unpredictable. This is one of the greatest songs ever:

Return To Cookie Mountain > Dear Science.

I never understood Dear Science to be honest Neutral . Nine Types of Light is also an ok release by them. Young Liars And Desperate Youth is probably a second best for them Smile
