Perhaps Gang Starr. Over the years I've warmed to Guru's voice, but initially I hated it.

Brian Eno is probably the best example I can think of. Oh, and Gordon Haskell in King Crimson. Led Zeppelin is a good call also, I'd agree with that. Although I can't picture them with a different vocalist.

i agree with whoever mentioned bob dylan
but my first thought went to Opeth. they play awesome prog/metal/hard-rock and have two vocalists, one has that metal growling-gruff-jacked-up-testosterone quality and the other has what i'd consider a more "normal"/melodic actual singing voice. If the latter guy would just front more albums, like he did on their last album Heritage (and one other, i think it was Damnation), then i'd be devouring their catalogue.

It's not quite enough for me, but I guess I can deal with it. You just really miss out something by not liking Christian Hjelm's voice, his voice is what makes the music so fun and fresh, and yet bittersweet and melancholic!
..nah! I'm just happy that another one out of a million likes "When the Deer Wore Blue"!
