If you want to try grunge, these are the albums that are generally considered the best / most popular. Start with these and if you like them, dig deeper.

Nirvana - Nevermind

Pearl Jam - Ten

Soundgarden - Badmotofinger or Superunknown

Alice in Chains - Dirt

These were the four grunge bands that became the most popular. There were some other grunge bands like Green River, Malfunkshun, Screaming Trees, etc. that didn't get as popular.

Stone Temple Pilots are typically considered followers and lots of people call them post-grunge. (I don't really care, I still like their stuff)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Cloud Nothings-Attack on Memory is the best post-90's grunge album.

Then again, I haven't heard many post-90's grunge albums.

I'm not too big on STP, but there is a lot of Grunge I like. Love Nirvana and Alice in chains. Also quite fond of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Hole. I sort of like Fastbacks (though they're more punk, but they do have some grunge elements), and Screaming Trees, Veruca Salt, and Temple of the Dog all had stuff ranging from barely average - pretty fucking great IMO

I don't know whether to be more shocked by having a play soundtrack on your chart or Nevermind.

The surprise is that Nevermind was raised from 60 to 11.
