Does Aeroplane count? If not, then Nick Drake-Pink Moon or VanMorrison Astrall Weeks

Of say that counts. Jeff Mangum is/was a songwriting legend! Pink moon is also a classic I shoulda mentioned! Astral Weeks I do like a lot, just haven't had that moment when I really fall for it.

Hmm.... On that I agree that Neil Yoing needs to be included. Buuuut I adore Harvest. For some reason I never got into After The Goldrush as much. But thanks for remindeding me for I was planning on revisiting that and soaking it up more now that I have fully discovered Harvest.

I think Townes Van Zandt is just an absolute phenom or was one (RIP)
And I think he needs more recognition. The problem with him is he doesn't really have an album that is just WOW, it in terms of classic songs he's written, boy he's hard to top.

I have never gotten into or even really listened to Phil Collins or even Geneais. I should definitely look into it. I do really love So by Peter Gabriel.
As for Alice Cooper, I'd say he is technically a hard rock singer songwriter as he does song and does write and does sing what he writes.

I love to hear Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt sing that song. Smile Smile Smile

Tot.al.ly count yo! I need to check out that Liz Phair. By almost all accounts it's a classic. And Transformer is incredible. I heard some people put "Perfect Day" down, bit I really like that song. Like ALOT!
