I just don't like the use of the term "molded", or the implication that only (primarily) guitar-based bands had a hand in "molding" the decade. It's a close-minded poll, that only really applies to certain genres. And I take "molded" to mean change or shape something, in which case I think Timbaland or The Neptunes both deserve to be in this poll ahead of at least four or five of these bands. I'm content with seeing The Strokes and Coldplay there, because I feel they are the most influential. The others, however great or shit they may be, certainly had no bigger hand in "molding" the decade than the two artists I mentioned (Timbaland and The Neptunes). If you think so then you've got some crazy blinkers on whereby you've somehow managed to avoid pop music and hip-hop.

I'd have to say the White Stripes, though I don't really like any of the options.

Understandable, but I recommend re-listening
As for what "molded" it, probably Arcade Fire or White Stipes. But Animal Collective made by far the best music imo.

Eh, that's debatable.

The part about Animal Collective making the best music. A lot of people, including myself, would disagree.

The Strokes were the template for much of the former half the decade, Arcade Fire for the latter. Voted Strokes because I knew AF would get shit tons of votes. _________________ My top songs of the 2010s
