haha, i've been enjoying rediscovering this game these last couple months.. i'm not too far off completion now and yeah, the music is inescapable excellent.
personally, i find it most amusing to play the old skool country tunes as i maul down pedestrians in a tanker _________________ no fat chicks
I personally like dressing up like Moogie from Do the Right Thing, including the flat-top, and doing drive-bys while listening to Playback (GTA:SA introduced me to Brand Nubian and Electromagnetic MCs). But the absolute best thing you can do in that game is crouch-walk behind someone and stab them in the neck with a stealth-kill; so satisfying.
Lots of love for licensed music in games (GTA, Guitar Hero, Rock Band) c'mon how bout more music made for a game, as opposed to just appearing in it.
For my money, stuff like this is far more memorable and affecting for a game than anything in GTA. Not that those aren't great songs, but they don't hold any special connection to the game, I might as well turn my ipod on and play a game like GTA:

God of War and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty are both really hard to beat in terms of dramatic, tense scores. The Hitman games also have an interesting darkwave/minimalist bent to them that makes the soundtrack very intense and interesting. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living.
