I thought of a few that I probably should have included in my own list. A lot of them are default picks, but still. Doubt I would have many more beyond these countries . . .

Cameroon - Wes - 'Alane' Cool
Finland - Darude - 'Sandstorm'
Guinea - Mory Kante - 'Yeke Yeke'
Iceland - The Sugarcubes - 'Birthday'
Indonesia - The Tielman Brothers - 'Black Eyes Rock'
Italy - Giorgio Moroder - 'Together In Electric Dreams'
Ivory Coast - Metisse - 'Boom Boom Ba'
Jamaica - Jimmy Cliff - 'Many Rivers To Cross'
Netherlands - Alice Deejay - 'Better Off Alone'
Norway - a-ha - 'The Sun Always Shines On TV'
Romania - Edward Maya / Vika Jigulina - 'Stereo Love'
Senegal - Youssou N'Dour - 'Birima'
Spain - Baccara - 'Yes Sir I Can Boogie' Laughing
Switzerland - Yello - 'The Race'
Trinidad And Tobago - Billy Ocean - 'Red Light Spells Danger'

Wales: Wow, I live 60 miles away from Wales and I don't like a single song from there.

Even though I like a lot of Welsh music, I'm not surprised to hear someone say this. Welsh music suffers from a lack of quantity, imo. For every one band that 'makes it' from Wales, somewhere like Scotland, with a similar population, will have a whole lot more.

What do you like most about Dead Passive ihh2013?

Tough question actually – the chord sequence itself is probably my favourite thing. Then there is the military drumming that kicks in after the first chorus. Strong set of lyrics too, along with decent basswork.

Brilliant list, Norman Bates, especially the African stuff. That Verlaines track is top-rate as well.

A few things first:
1) I pay far more attention to albums as a whole than individual tracks, so it's very difficult for me to call upon a single track as a favorite.
2) I am super forgetful, and I don't keep songs ranked anywhere.
3) I don't have a favorite track from every country's music I have listened to.

There are many places in the world that I still know little about. Mainly North Africa, West Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.

I feel this list is still a bit of a primitive version of myself, I'll know much more in a couple years. Maybe I'll come back to this thread someday and update.
