BEA is almost tumblr-level gay, and it's mahhvelous. But in all seriousness it's good to know people can be frank here on the issue and not be subject to harrasment, even with the occasional big hiccups (there was a thread last summer that I think many want to forget ever happened, and I definitely heard about past remarks from no-longer-with-us users). Given ive been on a good number of forums where lines like "That's Gay" or people being called "F*ggots" and "Q**ers" incessantly, either maliciously or like it's no big thing (which is often just as bad), so it's nice BEA can often rise above the petty direct or indirect homophobia that can be prevelant on a lot of different websites. Given, in the way that I was born there is no real way to "define" my sexuality (these days I pretty much just consider myself Asexual); but ive had sexual experiences with both men and woman so for the most part because I don't really have a conventional "gender", I don't consider to have a conventional sexuality either. Given living in Seattle and New York I often talked with and made friends with many homeless LGBT teens, who were often just completely shunned from their families just upon the mere mention of being gay or bi or hell even wearing anything considered too "feminine" or "masculine", and it shows the ugliest side of valuing personalyl held beliefs over the love of your children. It's nice to know that definitely isn't the case everywhere.

Totally this. BEA is the most normal site I've encountered on the subjects of sexuality. Basically, nobody gives a shit who you want to love and everybody will support if difficulty or uneasiness is mentioned. It's really nice to see people talking normally about normal things they feel and not being given shit for it.
