Only major surprise in the top 10 was Wind River, in place of the expected (IMO) Call Me By Your Name.
Great year for horror. Glad that translated to here. Get Out is a landmark in films of the genre earning major awards and nominations, IT is the highest grossing horror film ever, and Raw was just plain awesome.

Solid list, with three of my top four as the top three. More people need to see Brigsby Bear!
Preeeetty sure that pic of Wind River is actually The Revenant, but all good. And yeah, if you didn't see it I definitely recommend and it's easy to find in the US.

Perhaps it was.
I apologize if any pictures are incorrect or have spoilers, etc... there's still about 15 films here that I haven't seen (Wind River not being one of them though... that was just my bad).
I am sliiiightly surprised by how English-centric this list is (I think there's only 3 non-English films, all near the bottom), but it really was a strong year for English cinema. Expected A Fantastic Woman and/or BPM to make it, but neither were particularly close. Hoping this year turns out to have a bit more international oomph. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

The perfect DDL reaction to being placed on the same pedestal as Ronan.

Five years ago he shared one with J-Law, fresh off her star-making turn in that shitty Battle Royale remake. Maybe not here (did we do these back then?). Is Ronan really that bad? I like both but I don't think DDL would care about one if he didn't care about the other. He's the far superior actor on practically every stage he's been on anyway. If I was him I would have quite the superiority complex.

Nah. 2015 was the first. Mad Max: Fury Road won, and I can't recall if we did the acting awards, but I do remember a soundtrack category. Arrival won 2016, with Amy Adams and Casey Affleck scooping up the acting awards.
I'm cool with Ronan topping our list. She appeared on every submitted acting list apart from one. In fact, neither category was particularly close, both winners were practically runaways.
Also, whenever I see 'J-Law' written, I still think Jude Law. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

Pretty sure we did do acting for 2015 as well. I'll find it...
Saoirse Ronan also topped our women in 2015 (told you she was a favorite here) for Brooklyn while Geza Rohrig won best actor for Son of Saul.

woops... probably should've known that/said something about it.
Congrats to 2-time winner Saoirse Ronan _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!
