Overall would be The Libertines,but still making great music would either be The Strokes,Arctic Monkeys or Spiritualized.

PJ harvey still kicks ass, and Joanna Newsom, Grouper, Dirty Projectors, Beach House, Arcade Fire and St Vincent are all making really complex and ambitious music. The women are rocking the new millenium

I still stand by The Arcane Fries, an all-female hip hop group from Greenland who are so obscure that they aren't even on RYM.
