Listen to Nashville Skyline. He uses a totally different vocal style on that album. Use it as a gateway drug.

Wow that does sound totally different. Has a bit of a Kermit vibe going.

I think he meant the film.......

Anyways, I don't think that the way told on the site is good enough, mostly because I don't think there is a particular definitive way to get into him.

Also, I disagree with those who say he was a terrible singer. Maybe technically, but his voice just suits the music and the lyrics so well. Highway 61 Revisited has one of the best album-length vocal performances ever.

Yeah. He's an idiot. He should go to hell for disagreeing with nezzle. He completely fails at life and his IQ is incredibly low.

Oh, I think you're right! Embarassed The other albums he mentioned are apparently also movies, but the bottom of the barrel for Bob Dylan are regular studio albums as far as I know.

..anyway it's not about The Beatles, so it doesn't really matter. For the subject, I would've thought that "Highway 61" and "Blood on the Tracks" were better starters than "Bringing It All Back Home".

Congratulations for completely exagerrating the tone and content of what I said. Look through his supposed "dud" tracks - is he kidding? Some of those are amongst the best songs Dylan ever released. Also, as I said in my initial reply, start wherever you want with Dylan. This man completely writes off Self Portrait, which I think is a highly enjoyable album. Any artist with a discography that vast is going to have more than a few incarnations, and there are a plethora of potential starting places. The way he writes as though all non-Dylan fans should do it his way in order to get the full Dylan experience is idiotic, and (as the quote you took from me was in direct reference to the "dud" tracks) if people did it his way they'd miss out on some of Dylan's greatest tracks.

People can also have opinions of others' opinions, nothing extraordinary about that.

This thread is starting to sound like the 'What is is with the Beatles' thread.
