RYM definitely has more information and more to do but whatever BEA does, it does it better. I think as the site expands to offer more options, it will likely gain in other ways too. I mean, you come here you do your list, you inspect the overall chart and then what ... you chat on the forums but there is nothing more to be done regarding music.
I expect the era of theme charts -or as most people call them, for fun charts- a lot open up it will.
On RYM I can get a list of the best 2012 albums while making sure no Nicky Minaj or Madonna will pop up, here I cannot.

Absolutely agree with this. From a BEA perspective. the past year has been about setting the groundwork for 'custom charts', and they'll be released very shortly and expand the scope of the site dramatically. Once these charts are live, it will open up quite a few more options for BEA, and combined with the tagging system (when that's finally done!), it will give people a lot of flexibility when browsing the site.
The main thing missing on BEA (compared to other sites) is a full discography per artist but the concept of BEA currently limits us to just albums. Perhaps, at some stage in the future, this might change, but on the other hand it also gives BEA a niche and specialism that it might not otherwise have.
Of course, there are a lot of other great sites out there that people can visit instead, but I still believe there are enough interested people in the world to make BEA a popular place to visit, and we already have a great community. With the planned improvements in the pipeline, BEA can only get more popular.

RYM's overall chart is much better, yes. But in terms of layout and forum, it's a complete mess. BEA is way better in that regard.
