I own this album, from back in my early teenage days when I didn't know there was so much more music out there.
It bores me.

I do like the fact that it's ranked high here however, I feel cool when I own an album in the top 100. Cool

Interesting. I have a little over 150 overall and precisely 50 in the top 100. I guess my tastes are just mainstream and boring :/

It makes my F#A# thing seem minuscule in comparison.

That's terrific, Muse is not.

What's your F#A# thing?

Oh, last Saturday I was at a free Antlers show with Silverwalrus and Dividesbyzero and I got Peter Silberman, lead singer of the Antlers to sign my copy of F#A#

It's so confusing

Also his signature is shit

Well I for one love this album. It's not Muse's best collection of songs, but I think the album flows together well, better than any of their other albums (though only slightly better than BH&R). And there's not a single track on the album which I don't like a lot (with the exception of "Intro" and "Interlude" which serve their purpose but can't really be considered songs like the rest of the tracks). And to all those saying Muse's lyrics are cheesy. I disagree with that. "Afternoon Delight" is cheesy. "Take Me Home Country Roads" is cheesy. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is cheesy. Muse? Imagery after imagery without a hell of a lot of sense to the order or flow, but there's definitely some underlying themes throughout the album (and throughout all of Muse's albums). Think them over the top if you want, but they're definitely a trio of fantastic musicians, and Matt Bellamy sure does compose pretty damn well. Also, I see nothing wrong with being over the top.

And another thing: say what you may about Muse's lyrics, but for the people dissing them, I would be interested to know what you think about albums like Kid A (lots of lyrics purposely meant to be not understandable), Ten (I dare you to tell me you understand a damn word Eddie Vedder is singing), and Ágætis Byrjun (if you know Icelandic, color me impressed).

I know there is a lot of (justified) hate for Muse, but Absolution is one album by them that is actually quite good. The Resistance and The 2nd Law have pretty much ruined Muse for me, but they had a couple of truly solid records.

Track picks
4. Sing for Absolution
5. Stockholm Syndrome
9. Blackout
13. Thoughts of a Dying Atheist

I joke, it's a pretty poor album and I probably could have spent that money better. Brick wall

Well when you join the site I suppose one of the best ways to start is to listen to the high ranked albums you haven't heard, guess that's what I did Think
