HAH!
Even though I do love Abbey Road. Best album of 69? No. Karma and Hot Rats are better albums. But Abbey Road is top 10 material.

Easily better than Abbey in '69:

1. Moody Blues - To Our Children's Children's Children
2. King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
3. Kinks - Arthur, or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire
4. Joe Henderson - Power to the People
5. Moody Blue - On the Threshold of a Dream
6. Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
7. Miroslav Vitous - Infinite Search
8. Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery - The Futher Adventures of Jimmy and Wes
9. Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
10. Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed

Here, I fixed it... hehe:
1. Abbey Road - The Beatles
2. Moody Blues - To Our Children's Children's Children
3. King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
4. Kinks - Arthur, or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire
5. Joe Henderson - Power to the People
6. Moody Blue - On the Threshold of a Dream
7. Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
8. Miroslav Vitous - Infinite Search
9. Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery - The Futher Adventures of Jimmy and Wes
10. Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
11. Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed

Just kidding, those are all really great too. For me though none of them musically or conceptually are leaps and bounds better. They are all great albums (well I'm not familiar with 3 of them).

I suppose this needs to be re-worked, but 2 years ago, this is how I saw 1969, if on that subject...

All great examples. Could be nos 11-13 on my list and still well ahead of Abbey.
