Perhaps it's obvious from my profile pic, but classical music makes up about 50% of my collection. You don't see it reflected too much in the chart as classical isn't really an "albums" kind of music.

Runners-up are ambient (like Yoshio Ojima or Federico Durand), jazz (like Charlie Parker), Soca (like Bunji Garlin), anything with a dose of psychedelia (Flaming Lips), or a juxtaposition of dark and light moods (like dark cabaret - Amanda Palmer and/or Dresden Dolls for instance)

That's cool!

Did you tag that all out or how did you make that list? (PM if weird to reply).

I guess this might be lesson for me on the "Know Thyself" concept.

I have no bleeping clue.

Like seriously.

I want to say good music is what excites me, not the genre/descriptor. I attempted to write up descriptors on my overall chart to see if there were correlations I could make.

I guess if I want to be boring, I could say rock music... which doesn't even mean anything really to me other than a giant umbrella and kinda might as well say rock music. And that actually aggravates me because I find 80% of rock music pretty terrible actually.

I guess I don't like genre descriptors/saying I like a certain genre because I feel like every genre has fantastic and shit music. It's almost like asking which Red is your favorite Red. Idk - Red? Like I could probably go look up all the different Red descriptors and narrow it down to the 20 different reds I like the most. But even those shades can change/not be an accurate representation in print vs digital media vs nature. Ok, I'll just stop my insane ramblings now.

For some reason time periods are more important to me.

Like 1955 to 1959, 1965 to like 1972, or 1985 to like 1994.

I'm learning like 1938 to 1945 is a key period too, for me at least.

Well that's for popular music at least.

Speaking of popular music, I suppose one thing that I could latch on to... kinda... is mainstream music. That's not a genre. But I find that my favorite aesthetic is pop-music that is revolting upon itself using pop music as the wolf in sheeps clothing if you will... haha.

oh got it - thanks!

I haven't done much in the ownership (was expecting it to go off rating too) realm and so maybe now I'm motivated to do that whereas before it was more a discogs thing and thought it silly to maintain both (insert another person smarter than me who shows me those have reports/tags I didn't notice before... hehe).

I have so many things I could say right now, but instead I'm just going to decide on the best Dwight Schrute picture to post.
