I don't know, I think R.E.M made three amazing records (Automatic for the People, Document, Out of Time).

I'd add Murmur, Reckoning, and Life's Rich Pageant to that list. that makes six amazing records

I didn't connect or feel the songwriting was as rich on those, but yes those are at least great records to me. Cool

I used to prefer the three you mentioned, but in the last couple years, I've found that I may prefer the early ones

Voted R.E.M. originally but I wish I voted Joy Division. While I prefer R.E.M., I feel Joy Division sum up post-punk more than any other band.
