Rolling Eyes Of course a gender thread results in stupid bullshit arguments

IDK if I agree with this or not, but it does result in arguments which is a pity. Love ya Satie, love ya Alex, love ya Karbutt, just please get along. Honestly I think almost everyone on this site is pro-rights for everyone, no matter what gender, sexuality, fetishes, or lack there of we have, and while some people piss us off for time to time, we mostly just want everyone to get along.

<3 y'all. <3 each other.

I've been making a re-search, and this gender things is even in the BEA albums

Since 1960 until 2014 (this moment) there was no 1st place albums that were made by a female lead singer, (except the mixed albums during these years). There are also just one album leaded by a female singer in the top 100,that is Dummy by Portishead, the classic 1994 album, that occupies the 86th position in the overall, that even being in the top 100 is only the 4th of 1994,then there are no more female albums in the top 100, The closest album is blue by Joni Mitchell that is in the 105th position, so this position may influence in our charts, most of charts are top 100 based, or some people take recs from it, and there are just one female album there, and IMO is not very accessible to everyone. The closest album to blue is Hounds of love that takes the 145th position, which is a big margin of difference from blue. Then Things become closer, Bjork's Homogenic takes the 167th position more closer to Hounds of love, which may indicate that the female albums in the overall is getting more regular. This prove comes with the classic Patti Smith's album Horses that is very close to homogenic, but how I said all these albums are not first places, and the last album in the top 200 female-leading, is Ys By Joanna Newsom in the 192nd position, one thing that I noted is also that all albums with a female voice leading in the top 200 (except Dummy) are solo albums, (I want to hear you thoughts here because I don't know what this can mean)

So If we're making a top 20 by Female Leading albums here it is (I have not too much time to do a top 100 but if someone wants to do feel free)

86 - Dummy - Portishead
105 - Blue - Joni Mitchel
145 - Hounds Of Love - Kate Bush
167 - Homogenic - Bjork
174 - Horses - Patti Smith
192 - Ys - Joanna Newsom
250 - Teen Dream - Beach House
256 - Jagged Little Pill - Alanis Morisette
270 - Tapestry - Carole King
286 - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea - P.J Harvey
299 - Back To Black - Amy Winehouse
310 - Third - Portishead
312 - Parallel Lines - Blondie
313 - Vespertine - Bjork
342 - The Dreaming - Kate Bush
358 - Treasure - Cocteau Twins
361 - Post - Bjork
367 - Let England Shake - P.J Harvey
370 - Little Earthquakes - Tori Amos
387 - Bloom - Beach House

Thoughts?

note how far away from the first album "bloom" is, and that 14 albums are from solo works

also I may have got wrong something so If I made any mistakes don't feel bad pointing me the error

Interesting.... Will take an educated guess that my overall is male dominated...sort of makes sense as the female gender moved into "prominent" positions in society (including the arts) only relatively recently...

Well this is a bit embarrassing but I have 87 male albums, 11 mixed and only two which are only female albums (Kate Bush and Nico). Though I plan to update my chart with Bloom so the statistics will be a bit better.

I have always preferred male vocals and artists in general...so I'm not that surprised.
