This is the cruelest poll to have ever been done. Sorry Neil.

My vote went to Neil by a whisker. Both are legends.

So . . . would I rather listen to a sick cat wailing on my fencepost or some insane homeless dude mumble unintelligible things to himself? Hmmm. . . . tough choice.

I'm beggining to get into Neil. Some of his stuff is truly wonderful. That being said I don't think he comes close enough for me to even consider voting for him.

Dylan, though by no means is it a cakewalk. Young is one of the few artists that can pretty much go toe to toe with him. _________________ Best Classical

I think Neil Young is more consistent and has a greater amount of quality albums and songs, but Dylan's best is better. Young has more direct influence on a lot of other artists whose work I like. Here are my 7+'s from them (a rating on Young's Psychedelic Pill is pending).
1. Blonde On Blonde
2. Highway 61 Revisited
3. Tonight's The Night
4. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
5. Rust Never Sleeps
6) On The Beach
7. After The Gold Rush
8. Desire
??? 9. Arc

I used to think this as well. Musically, they are an interesting lot and do go toe to toe well together. If they were getting started today, nobody would have ever heard of them. They'd be like Jeffery Lewis. That says more about our time than their talent... they are unquestionably some of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
Having said that I voted for Dylan since he's the only one with an album in my top 100.
I do enjoy Decade from cover to cover though... some of it A LOT and some of it... eh.
Oh wait... I think I have Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young in my top 100... meh... still Dylan.
But it really is a toss up. And possibly more so for me because I am not a vested fan in either one, but definitely a sideshow fan (whatever that means).
