Nothing wrong with greatest hits comps, especially because a lot of the music of say, Jamaica is so singles-based. Settle down 'Koko(that's your new nickname).

It's Caribbean, which is close to North America but not quite.

Did you make a decision about whether 'The Monks' count as German or American?

It is according to Wikipedia:

"North America occupies the northern portion of the landmass generally referred to as the New World, the Western Hemisphere, the Americas, or simply America (which, less commonly, is considered by some as a single continent[12][13][14] with North America a subcontinent).[15] North America's only land connection to South America is at the Isthmus of Panama. The continent is delimited on the southeast by most geographers at the Darién watershed along the Colombia-Panama border, placing all of Panama within North America.[16][17][18] Alternatively, less common views would end North America at the man-made Panama Canal; and some geologists physiographically locate its southern limit at the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Mexico, with Central America extending southeastward to South America from this point.[19] The Caribbean islands, or West Indies, are considered part of North America."

Just make a new rule saying No US, no Canada, no Australia, no Ireland, no Great Britain. There's no point in not including the Caribbean or Mexico really.

I think I came to the decision that the Monks count as a German band since it was recorded and released first and Germany, and also due to the fact that its removal from American record companies was a huge part of the band's sound.

What I'm concerned about if I allow Mexico is that a lot of people are going to want to alter their charts to include albums from Mexico and it takes a SURPRISINGLY long time to record all of this information and starting from scratch does NOT appeal to me at this juncture. Maybe we could just start letting Mexican countries in from this post forward, but then that puts Mexico at a disadvantage because it hasn't had the same opportunity to accrue points as other countries...
