Less pretentious, more batshit insane. I just imagine him holed up in some house made entirely out of cheese, riding a unicycle while eating new albums.

Great posts, all - I have several new places to look for info... The BEA chart is often a good source, but not everything suits my taste... Ce la vie.
I gotta agree - their ratings are usually pretty safe (everything by the Beatles gets full marks) but Allmusic.com is a pretty good place to go for encyclopedic information. I also go to metacritic often.

I sometimes type in a band I love/hate in the google search engine followed by "scaruffi" to have a good laugh.
Seriously though, he's just 
I like Starostin, even when I don't agree with him I still respect his opinion.
