I wonder if the excellent idea that originated this topic, i.e. allowing newcomers to say hi and introduce themselves, will not prove counter-productive if every presentation goes off like this.

Yeah. After the second page. It turned into a gay rights/ religious dogma debate. WTF! Shouldn't that go in the religion and politics section? I guess there's no way to split a thread.
