I haven't heard much that's impressed me this decade. The only really enjoyable albums I've heard are:

Hopes & Fears - Keane
Strangelet - Grant Lee Phillips
Ladies Love Oracle - Grant Lee Phillips
Black Market Music - Placebo
Sleeping With Ghosts - Placebo
Meds - Placebo
Kimi Ga Suki - Matthew Sweet
Fresh Wine For The Horses - Rob Dickinson

Borderline albums (some good tracks, but the albums as a whole didn't make an impression on me):
Yours Truly, Angry Mob - Kaiser Chiefs
Virginia Creeper - Grant Lee Phillips
Hot Fuss - The Killers
Inertia - The Exies
Kid A - Radiohead
Playing The Angel - Depeche Mode
Exciter - Depeche Mode
The Invisible Band - Travis
Love Is Here - Starsailor

my favourite albums of this century, in the order I think of them:

funeral/neon bible - arcade fire
chutes too narrow - the shins
apologies to the queen mary - wolf parade
takk/agaetis byrjun (sp.) - sigur rós
picaresque - the decemberists
dear science/return to cookie mountain - tv on the radio
sound of silver - lcd soundsystem
from a basement on the hill - Elliott Smith
one time for all time/the fall of math - 65daysofstatic
turn on the bright lights - interpol
the meadowlands - the wrens
is this it? - the strokes
discovery (21st century, isn't it?) - daft punk
† - justice
we were dead before the ship even sank - modest mouse
echoes/pieces of the people we love - the rapture
absolution - muse
boxer - the national
the flying club cup - beirut
silent alarm - bloc party
fleet foxes - fleet foxes
mirrored - battles
puzzle - biffy clyro
saturdays=youth - m83
dig! lazarus, dig! - nick cave and the bad seeds
any minute now - soulwax
the understanding - royksopp

I was with a lot of you, thinking that this decade hasn't been that great for music. But looking back at that list - those are pretty amazing albums (imo) and i'm sure i missed a load more. Nothing can beat the 90s for me though, even though i wasn't really into music back then

Mastodon - Blood Mountain / Leviathan

Incredible but this might be one of the best rock bands atm, truly a mindblowing metal band.

Although, it's no my favorite album of this decade, you can't diminish the importance and influence that Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood to the Head" has had since it came out. It's been consistently mentioned in the top 5 albums of this decade and is considered to be one of the best albums ever made.

Here are some great albums of the 2000's that I think might stand the test of time and could be considered classic albums now or in the future:

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot--Wilco
Illinois--Sufjan Stevens
Is this it--The Strokes
Funeral-- The Arcade Fire
The Crane Wife--The Decemberists
Oh! Inverted World and Chutes too Narrow--The Shins
Clap your Hands Say Yeah!--"

I'd now like to add Boxer by the National---My favorite discovery this year even though it came out last year. I hear the Alligator is really good too although I have yet to pick that up.

Some other great albums include Boys and Girls in America by The Hold Steady and Twin Cinema by The New Pornographers.
