It's repulsive, and it has none of those things. |
Totally agreed. I saw that film trying to keep up with some notorious films the '70s produced-I enjoyed a lot of great movies, including Dog Day Afternoon which went straight up among my all-time favorites. But Eraserhead-oh my. It starts intriguingly but as soon as the "baby" subplot kicks in it's... just a train wreck. It becomes pointless and visually appalling and the allegories about the inner thoughts of the male person are anything but subtle, screaming right in front of your face. Strangely I've really enjoyed other Lynch films I've seen (The Elephant Man, Lost Highway, Mulholland Dr. especially).
Regarding Tarantino, he's one of my favorite directors, but imho he never reached the heights of his two first movies (both masterpieces)-Reservoir Dogs is the absolute film equivalent of an album without a single filler moment.

1. Cat Soup
2. Nueve Reinas/The Nine Queens
3. La Misma Luna/Underneath the same moon
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Star wars: the phantom menace
The top 4 are movies which have impressed me to great extents. I recommend anyone to watch any of these if you haven't already.
The 5th one is filler, I couldn't think of anything so I just chose my favorite star wars movie.
I'm not a movie fanatic though. I don't watch many movies.

i am glad to see that you have respect for your family and you guys get along well, i guess when you move out you can watch all of the classic vulgar movies like goodfellas, casino, full metal jacket, pulp fiction, and bad santa. _________________ the lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it ~ Paul Gleason

Amazing movie, best war film in my opinion! (Even better than Apocalypse Now...)
Don't know what you'd make of the swearing in it however... _________________

It depends. If it's got like 20 f's, I'll consider whether I wanna see it or not. If it has over 50, GOOD-BYE!
