Nape, you do realize this doesn't have much to do with censorship, right? |
Anytime one hides something from the public view and use that they did not author, it is a form of censorship. |
Alright, call it 'censorship'. Call it whatever you want.

If I own a message board, and I see content on it that I find inappropriate, I have the right to remove it. I also have the right to entrust others to help me monitor that which belongs to me...moderators. I have the right to ban you from my board if I see fit, and I have the right to take the board down entirely if I feel like it.
There is no such thing as censorship on a message board. And if there were...what could you do about it? Are there censorship laws that apply to internet message boards?

Well, not sure on that one.
O well, no biggie, I do know a law that does apply though
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution

Is this board based in the United States? And does the constitution say that if I own a message board, I do NOT have the right to control what people say on it?
If you have people over to your house, and they say things to you that you find offensive and rude, do you not have the right to ask them to leave your property?

You are equating the internet with my house
Umm ya, in America which is a constitutional republic the laws apply 2 internet use in America.
Surely you knew that. But we can play games if you so wish. I will be back

Put it this way. If I own a message board, it's in the United States, and i don't like what you say on it, I will moderate your posts. And if you continue to not follow my rules, I will ban you.
What does the first amendment of the United States Constitution allow you to do about?

Do what thou wilt Romanelli, I started this thread in hopes of getting an answer 2 this.
Why is it so wrong 2 post on an old thread. Is it just an uncool thing 2 do or what ?
Why bother even having threads from a year ago available 2 revive then ?
IMO interesting threads sometimes get quickly buried and forgotten.
But when I bring one back 2 page one people start complaining with, words 2 the effect, "who dug this old thread back up" ?
