mine were: smoking ginger (prince) destroy's its roots (queen) and darkens as it grows (king crimson) ..not quite following the format 100% i know and probably harder for the yanks!

Peru-boo. Boo is urban slang for boyfriend/girlfriend. And you were spot on with Peru.
