No. The problem is not that you hate punk. The problem is that you are trying to justify your hatred by "proving" punks inadequacies through subjective opinions.
It would be the same thing as people "proving" that you're an idiot by thinking that you're an idiot.

Somebody posted earlier that Metal derived from the Blues, and that is true. Punk arrived because there is always sections and selections of wanna be guitar players who won't put in the work to learn their instrument, or who just don't grasp it.

Seems that saying something closed minded and then putting it on repeat is your way of 'causing a stir'. I could 'cause a stir' by yelling BOOBS randomly in church, middle school, or at a funeral. It doesn't make for intelligent discussion.
I retract my knob comment. Name calling gives you too much attention and makes me stoop. I stand by my insecurity comment. Those who refuse to budge, broaden their explanation, or even respect the opinions of others display an insecurity in their views. Better defend them obtusely...
But this is the extent of the attention I give you. Too bad... You could have really defended your point if you did it a little more logically.

musicmanstu wrote: | This is the discussion you wanted...ok, lets compare the careers of three top Punk bands vs three top Metal bands. For Punk lets go with the Sex Pistols, Ramones, and Dead Kennedys....and for Metal we will take Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Judas Priest. I don't need to say do I which side was and still is a billion times more successful...and yes longevity means quality...no doubt about it. That is common sense. Did I forget to mention the continuing success of bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Dream Theater, etc, that STILL enjoy massive success today on a worldwide basis. |
Ramones?! Good gravy. No wonder you don't like punk.
