I'm finding it odd how many of you are making a separate category for instrumental albums... Are you guys putting Miles Davis, Roy Montgomery, Alice Coltrane, Aphex Twin, Jlin etc... in that category?
My current composition of solo artists:
Male: 38
Female: 19
And the rest is a mix of sorts. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

Interestingly enough I think I have more female instrumental albums than I do female vocal albums. Will do a specific count later...

I'm on point with my ladies being represented. The only thing I don't like is when a female singer is totally singing about things from a female perspective instead of singing from a person's perspective. Harder to relate or want to sing along with if it is skewed either way.

My top 5 all have female vocalists and 4 of them are solo acts... After that its probably 60/40 male, cbf counting.

I have only two albums on my chart where the vocals are mainly done by a woman. On one of those albums the women isn't credited as vocalist and the album is credited to a man. So my chart is a scuzzy looking dude.
