I guess I better commit to some dates. Let's say votes need to be in by the 18/01/11 and then the nominations will be announced on 21/01/11 and then we'll pick the winners between 28/01/11 and 29/01/11.

Don't you mean 2012 Jhereko
Or is it still 2011 in Australia

I'm abstaining (not that anyone would agree with my picks anyway). 2011 has been a bad listening year for the Borkster. Checked the collection and I have only acquired 11 albums from 2011 (compared to 79 in 2010 and 122 in 2009) so my opinion is not knowledgable enough on the matter.
Hope to do better this year.

Yeah it was a bad listening year for me too (although I did slightly better than you with 27 albums).
I had a bit of a rediscovery year last year.
I have higher hopes for 2012

Strange , 2011 was my favourite year in a long time for music, and I still have a lot to catch up on

I don't think there was anything wrong with the music from last year at all! I certainly found some albums that I like a lot (TREEFIGHT FOR SUNLIGHT!)
I got my vinyl conversion software package last year, so was far more focussed on converting albums I hadn't listened to in ages!
I'll try and catch up a bit this year!
