I'm torn. I went with "Who knows" but then again, bringing it back just seems stupid and destined for disaster, but again again, Disney usually does a pretty good job... so who knows? _________________

Disney can have a reputation for messing up stories. Aladdin was nothing like in Arabian Nights, 102 Dalmatians had NOTHING to do with the original Glenn Close one, I don't know what they were thinking to Tarzan.
Good movies, yes. Except 102. But they messed up the stories, and I may have a grudge against Disney if these people don't get Star Wars right.

It's honestly up in the air. I just hope they're better than the prequel trilogy.

What the hell are you talking about? The original is the 1961 film. They didn't mean to continue from the glenn close film. Plus those were all Disney films so they pretty much just did w/e they wanted there. This is different because they're taking on something that isn't originally theirs. _________________

What's really to "get right"? I mean, for starters, Star Wars is a series that really only has two worthwhile movies. A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back are the only films in the series that have merit as Return Of The Jedi was a massive fucking cop-out and the prequels were a logic-defying mess of poor writing decisions, bizarre aesthetics clashes, and characters devoid of character.
And the expanded universe, with the possible exception of the Knights Of The Old Republics video games, is a massive, stupid mess of dumb cliches and plot holes that rivals even DC and Marvel when it comes to needlessly dense, unnecessary bullshit and fanservice.
The only good thing Disney could do with the series at this point is gut the whole fucking fish and reassemble the entrails. Just release the original trilogy in its original unedited form as the fans have been asking for for years and let JJ Abrams make a mindless action movie out of Star Wars VII like he did with Star Trek. Whether or not it "respects the originals" is entirely fucking irrelevant, because Lucas already shat all over the originals a long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away. Cue rimshot. _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.

I wasn't talking about the cartoon at all. I was only talking about Glenn Close's movies. And by "get right," I mean they had better not screw up story elements like the X-Men movies do.
Plus, they can't go to far to one political side. The beauty of some major film series', including LOTR, The matrix, and Star Wars, is that they make it hard to tell which side is republican, or democrat.
I don't want to make this some big political thing, but Disney should leave Star Wars politics shrouded in mystery.
