I think the problem here is that whenever someone says "you wanted to be Beluga," all of us here in North America and Western Europe (I don't know about Japan) automatically assume the person is referring to the lead singer of one-hit wonder art-punk band Beluga and the Human Ashtrays. Practically everyone wanted to "be like Beluga" back when this band still existed, but as it happens, their smash-hit 1979 single "Mars Needs Women" was banned from what was then the Soviet Union due to the Communist Party thinking it was "not all that great, really." After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, there was a short-lived movement to lift the ban — which ultimately failed to gain traction when fans realized that all 100 copies of the single that were pressed had been sold, due to their having been purchased by Beluga himself during a fit of self-loathing.

MadhattanJack, thank you, everything fits.
People in the USSR treated red as their own.
Plans for the greening of Mars are direct evidence of this.
The song - And on Mars Will Apple Trees Blossom (1963) was released as a full-length film.

The Beluga project for alternative exploration of Mars started on Earth in 1979.
Time passed into a new calculation cycle in 2000 after 21 years.
According to the formula of absolute harmony, the mirror event is 2021.
The Martian girl flew to the planet of her ancestors.
Only such an ignoramus as I could suspect her of something earthly.

The actual (and somewhat ill-fated) Beluga mission to Mars (in cooperation with SpaceX) actually happened last year, in 2022, so I guess it was only about 3 or 4 months late:

As for the earlier thing, you might have been thinking of the Soviet Mars 2 mission, the first object to actually reach the planet surface. But that was in 1971, not 1979. Beluga and the Human Ashtrays didn't actually go to Mars in 1979, they just made a record to point out the obvious fact that the planet desperately needed women. Everyone knows this is true, and it's been a major problem for years — or maybe I should say, at least every time I go there, women just seem to ignore me as if I don't even exist. (I doubt they even have dating websites on Mars, quite frankly.) And who knows, maybe I actually don't exist, since the same thing seems to happen to me on Earth.

Anyway, it's fine to send landers and probes and rovers to Mars to check the place out, but until we get some women over there, it's not going to be much of a tourist destination.

"Ignoramus"? Give yourself more credit, man! I, for one, have always found you to be quite erudite and intellectually engaging. Very Happy

I did vote for Hikaru, though. (Sorry.)

Perhaps the planets are only projections and all the worlds intersect in our souls.
The release of the album with the symbolic title The Wall took place at the end of 1979.
The pinnacle of musical thought - all players had to fold.
Absolute harmony is possible only a moment before the birth of something new.
But a moment after birth, chaos ensues.
1+2+3+4+5 … = -1/12
Beluga and the Human Ashtrays accomplished their mission, chaos and wars were inevitable.
Mars needs women or Needs millions of newborns from the God of War.

Dating sites of the projection of Mars on Earth are always at your service.
This country is definitely different from others.
Martial arts and weapons, the corresponding symbolism on the flag.
Particular attention to the person's blood type.

This is not surprising, because Hikaru Utada is the same Martian girl.
She wrote a song about Marseille because it resonates with her origins.
She cannot become Beluga because she is red.
Her envy of the Belugas does not prevent her from maintaining her Martian dignity.
But her eyes are still full of sadness.

Oddly, this was going to be my original pitch.

This thread is wild—
Every time I think I comprehend it, I don't, and then I realize it's about a seagull song.

But that's exactly why the focus on Beluga whales is so... concerning. And I would hasten to add that there are, in fact, pink Beluga whales — they're rare, but they do exist. Sure, you're never going to see a red one, but that's not the whales' fault, it's evolution's fault. The pink ones are giving it their best shot, but they just can't quite get there.

So yeah, I blame evolution.

Maybe this is why she decided to perform in an aquarium? Think

I assume you're referring to this performance:

Look, I can't claim to have any special insight into her motivations, I certainly don't know her personally or anything. (I wish!) But I wouldn't read too much into it — I would tend more to agree with this blogger, for example, who says the decision to put her in front of a giant fishtank was only "kinda genius," as opposed to straight-up "genius," and also that the dancers on the video lacked "commitment."

Also, at least as far as the actual tank that she was singing in front of is concerned, there were some sharks and stingrays in there, and you don't put a Beluga whale in a tank with sharks in it because they'll fight, and most of the time they'll be evenly matched (forget what Reddit says) so both will come out with severe injuries. That's also why when you see Youtube videos of Belugas vs. sharks, which I believe comprise roughly 60 percent of Youtube's overall content collection at this point, they're always animated cartoons, like the one below. Not real! Shame on you

This whole story is such a revelation to me.
I want to justify some of my initial negative conclusions.
All this time, I meant Beluga (Sturgeon), common in Russia.
I myself am a dolphin according to the horoscope, Beluga (Kit) is my relative.))

Hikaru Utada is Japanese, that's all I knew at the beginning of the match.
The investigation involuntarily made me a paparazzi.
I can again perceive the final video - as mysticism.
This freed me from unnecessary details, from which my head went around.

Eastern musical expansion has already been a topic of my discontent several times.
It so happened that Japan is a standard of honor and quality for me.
But Japan is secondonly to the US in the music industry.
The latest videos of The Haunted Youth are not available in Russia - property of SME.
YouTube does not interfere with the distribution of any Hikaru Utada content.

The amount of Western music inaccessible in Russia is growing every day.
I even welcomed it, commercial music is 99% uninteresting.
The percentage of low quality Japanese and Korean music is increasing.
For all the time there was only one song that really surprised me.
Zior Park - GHOST (youtube)
I was going to give this example here as a sign of reconciliation with the East.))
This morning, this artist released another significant video.
Zior Park - CHRISTIAN (youtube)
The song came out on the last day of the match and it's also mystical.))
