Daniel Craig is the one for me. Most honest depiction of the character by far; he's a stone cold badass, but he's also a sad, numb human being whose lifestyle is not something to be envied. He's still a dick just like all the rest of them, but he is a dick that I can sympathize with.

Yeah, that's why I always loved Craig and Dalton's depictions of Bond, they bring real dimension to the character. _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.
Well to be honest, Ive only really seen the Sean Connery-Pierce Brosnan-Daniel Craig bond films (not the biggest fan but do enjoy them when I see them). Sean Connery was a great, cocky joy as the first bond, even if his interpretation of the character looks rather silly viewed through a modern-day lens. Pierce Brosnan was never particulary interesting as Bond (far too self-aware) and the movies he starred in always just seemed indistinguishable from the other relentless hollywood action blockbusters, and those films all seemed to take away that very british quality of the James Bond character. And while the three Daniel Craig movies have been a bit of a mixed bag, I think in many ways his performance has been the most dimensional (of whom I've seen), as you see a geniune human being that's become beaten-down and cynical by the relentless demands of being a spy in the grim modern age and in a very contemptous global-political climate. Skyfall was very, very good

Yet to see Skyfall. Hearing great things.
You should watch the Dalton Bond movies - he plays Bond as almost an antihero. It's really great. _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.
Sean Connery > Roger Moore = Daniel Craig (they are both so opposite but I find them equally interesting but for different reasons) > Pierce Brosnan (while I do agree he was slightly too self aware) > Georges Lazenby (the movie was so odd compared to the other ones that it is tough to truly comment on him though. I am still -and likely always will be- ambiguous about whether putting James Bond in a kilt was a stroke of genius or madness. > David Niven > Timothy Dalton
