The vast majority of scholarships in NZ go to students with a lower income, ethnic minority or if you a Maori then you pretty much get everything for free!
As an ordinary white middle class girl it made me sick
Uni should have been free for me, not to concerned about the rest although I don't want to pay for the education of others. (I suppose if you were being charitable you could call that selfish)

Yeah life's tough when you're white middle class, I should know.
I'm pretty sure UK universities offer scholarships on ability only, although like I say there's support from the government if you're not well off regardless of ability.
Funny thing is university was free in the UK until Blair, and it's the same politicains who benefitted from free university who bought in the fees, and then trebled them just recently. I think they should be forced to pay for their education retrospectively, that'd make them think twice. _________________ Shut up mate you're boring!
