A classic in time and sound. Ornette rarely sank to mediocrity, yet this is his finest album along with Free Jazz and Ornette! and Skies of America and Change of A Century. Simply one of the top three alto players, one of the top five sax players, and one of the top ten bandleaders of all time. A genius.

All of this stuff, even KKS' second comment. I've been thinking of making a jazz chart for a while and this will definitely place high.

Quite like this, but only Lonely Woman really sticks out. Ornette's style is both really interesting and a bit annoying. _________________

This is beautiful. Ornette lovers should also check out his later stuff, some gems to be rediscovered in the late 70s.
Jazz chart in the works as well, and of course this is top 5 or 10.
