Same here. I didn't like his voice first. Now I also know how beautiful the whole album is. It's something very special.

Yes, Madame George is my favourite, too. Definitely one of my all-time favourite songs.

Always reminds me of Lester Bang's delirious yet beautiful review when I see this album quoted.

A splendid record, a great discography, listen to Van.

I go back to Veedon Fleece more regularly, it's less dense and intense than this record but similarly beautiful. That said, I adore this too. Don't trust the opinion of a person who dislikes Astral Weeks.

As someone who isn't a fan of Astral Weeks, I can confirm that this man speaks the truth.

That said, it does seem like an album I could warm to, I've only given it a few listens.
