You'd think that they'd at least sound something like they used to.

Not a far cry from Trompe le Monde or Frank Black's Teenager of the Year. Also the notion of "they should have never recorded again" is idiotic. Let the band incorporate new musical ideas and progress their art how they want to, don't be one of those fans who hates change. Indie Cindy isn't even a real album but a compilation of a few EPs, so enjoy it for what it is and not what it isn't. Don't expect Doolittle or Surfer Rosa, that sound is preserved and gone, don't be so selfish. Smile

Even for a collection of EP's this is dire.

I agree with Gowienczyk, Doolittle or Surfer Rosa are one of the best albums ever made in rock history, don´t expect they do something like that again.

Indie cindy have great songs, some weaker, but for a compilation of EPs, I like!

Yeah, I listened to a couple of songs off Indie Candy and I'm pretty sure Cage the Elephant does a better Pixies nowadays than Pixies do.

I'm pretty sure Cage the Elephant hasn't done anything worth listening to, so not really.

I saw a lot of people paying good good money that they worked for to get this album of RSD...

That's a noble idea but this album is dogshit. To say that it's "not a far cry from Trompe le Monde" is verging on blasphemy and/or mental illness.

I usually agree with Gowi on most things. Not here. Both Trompe Le Monde and Teenager of the Year are unique, creative masterpieces. Nothing else sounds like them. Not even other Pixies and Frank Black albums. At it's best Indy Cindy is generic, formulaic pop punk. But unfortunately, as the title alone tells you, they are taking advantage of us "Indy Cindys" and our Record Store Days and having a good laugh about it while they're at it.

At least they are improving. You should listen to their latest album Melophobia it's more psychdelic and interesting compared to their previous two which were nothing more than AM,and Pixies ripoff.
