Something indeed though.
Okay, short paragraph.
In the 90s was a band called Diabologum. Post-situationnist pop kind of shit, interesting, but the music never held the promises the band sort of made, until this came out in 1996
which is the best rock album in the history of France. And which, of course, you must listen to.
After which masterpiece, they disbanded. Well.
Out of this band emerged two outfits : Experience, a very post-hardcore outfit, sometimes on the poppier side of things, and Programme. Programme is led by Artnaud Michniak (who was later to produce one the best French rap/spoken word albums, Road movie en béquilles by fellow Toulousain Nonstop) and works within the rock global pattern as well, but one a more, how should I say, "experimental" (I hate the word) side of things. Deesperate spoken word over disconnected post-hardcore/postrock instrumentation, verging on noise rock sometimes - definitely one of the best albums to have come out of France in the last 20 years.
