Full Metal Jacket - THAT'S another one I plan to see.

The word "fuck" is said 84 times in Full Metal Jacket. It's a shame you won't be able to see it. It really is a great film.

Ah. Well, I can always find it on TV. And I have a friend who's brother has the equipment to bleep out that kind of stuff and make me a copy. That's what I'm hoping to get soon with Donnie Darko.

It's not even the use of the F word in Full Metal Jacket that's the worst part in terms of swearing, they know how to be inventive.
As for Donnie Darko, I'm a fan, well worthwhile watch and nowhere near as much swearing as FMJ.
Not sure how the systems works in the U.S., but here FMJ is rated as 18, and Donnie Darko is 15 (Well according to the DVD boxes anyway...)

How are movies intended to be watched?

AND

Who's to judge these intentions?

JMan... I'm not judgmental of you, I never was and never tried to be, but seriously, the swearing issue prevents you from watching and appreciating really great films. A good example is Midnight Run which has a lot of "fucks"... and pretty much nothing else inappropriate, it's actually a really accessible, fun and exciting action comedy, among the few the '80s had. It's a pity you wouldn't watch it because they just say "fuck" a lot.

I don't care. I saw Aliens without the f-words and I had a fantastic time! F-bombs never did anything for me.
