This album has resonate with me very suddenly. It entered my top 100 a few months ago, but very low, and in the past month it has risen from around 90 to being in my top 10.

This album is like winter to me. The album highlights Elvrum's dark thoughts throughout, keeping to this cohesive theme of life & death, and the coldness of being in his own body. Yet each song has its own theme, and though generally keeps to this concept, the album never feels like the songs piggy-back each other, but they are their own lyrical pieces. Throughout in the lyrics, Elvrum is full of self-doubt and low self-esteem, and he wants things to change, and there are many songs which seem like a glimpse of hope, the light at the end of the tunnel, but it all boils down to a cycle, moving back to a lower, fractured 'reprise' of I Want Wind to Blow, which shows Elvrum's constant and circular hope for change. I don't know what I'm saying anymore. This is all pretentious as fuck.

TL;DR: Listen to it y'all, it's sad.

Initially, this album didn't seem like much to me. Just a load of missed opportunities. But as I got more and more in tune with it, the more I began to like it. Now I love the hell out of it.

This used to me my favorite album, and on some days it still is. It certainly is the most personal album for me, which makes a couple of the tracks hard to listen to on some days(in particular, the title track, I Felt Your Shape and The Moon). I don't really know what I could say, that could do justice to how much this album has meant to me over the years, so I'll just quit while I'm ahead.

Also Phil's a really nice guy if you ever get the chance to talk to him.

There's an indie aesthetic i can't quite pin down present on here that is also present on Funeral and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.
