I did this one instead of And She Closed Her Eyes by Stina Nordenstam since it was world album of the day not too long ago. Figured we'd want something new. Hope this was the right decision. ^_^

Yes, it's perfect, thanks a lot!
I often wonder whether this album really is reggae, or if it's just watered-down sunny pop shit. Like really, I remember Jim explaining how the Wailers were just here to please the masses, but this is possibly the most inoffensive-sounding album I've ever heard.
It's incredible though. It's really about applying the best pop songwriting to the reggae universe. It's supremely catchy obviously, but not in an anthemic chorus way, as I think that wouldn't fit at all, but rather in a subtler, more melodic way. Each single note is at its exact right place, and the songs flow in the most natural way possible, like a river of sunshine. Because it's definitely on the sunny side of reggae. It's not about destroying Babylon, and war, and shit, it's about tolerance, sharing, love for each other, and obviously Marcus Garvey. And it's done in a way that is so naive, so lovely, it never feels too preachy or forced. Hope it makes sense
Check out Them Never Love Poor Marcus and Have Mercy for the best tracks, though the whole thing is less than 35 minute long, so it shouldn't be too much of a bother either

This is listed in Tom Hibbert's book The Perfect Collection, my pre-Internet guidebook. Here are the brief comments by one of the editors: "The classic JA vocal harmony group singing their most consistent collection of songs". As for me, I remember listening to this and liking it. The "problem" with listening to reggae, is that all reggae sounds the same to me: good. _________________ "And can’t you see you’re in on it?
